Why we are investing?

Sleepy Eye Golf Club didn't happen overnight.

For nearly a century, members and community supporters have invested their time, money, and hard work into creating the club we know today.

Many people played a role in fundraising and volunteering to purchase the land for our golf course, develop and construct greens and tees, construct our clubhouse, fund cart sheds, and maintain the shop and facilities.

Their investment created the foundation we have today.

Now, we have the opportunity to do the same for the generations that follow us.

We've Continued to Invest

Over the past five years, Sleepy Eye Golf Club has made significant investments in our facilities and course, including:

Remodeling our restrooms

Remodeling our kitchen to modern standards

Repairing our HVAC systems

Installing a modern and legal septic treatment system

Improving tee box options, including additional options for women

Removing approximately 200 trees affected by disease

Planting approximately 150 new trees

These improvements have helped us continue providing a welcoming experience for our members, guests, and community. But there is still work to be done.

Why now?

Our current financial picture presents a challenge.

The combined golf and bar/restaurant operation is projected to break even or have a slight profit of approximately $25,000 per year.

At the same time, the club continues to have current debt obligations. This means there is very little room within our regular operating budget for major capital improvements. Without additional funding, major improvements have to wait.

And we don't want to simply maintain what we have.

We want to build a stronger future.
